Dr. Peter Voorhees is a Professor of Medicine and Chief of the Plasma Cell Disorders Division of Levine Cancer Institute (LCI), Atrium Health / Wake Forest Baptist in Charlotte, North Carolina. He is the Vice Chair of Clinical Operations for the Department of Hematologic Malignancies and Blood Disorders and Associate Director of Clinical Trials at LCI His research is focused on the clinical development of novel therapeutic strategies for the treatment of multiple myeloma at all phases from smoldering to relapsed and refractory disease. Education about best evidence-based practices for the treatment of multiple myeloma is a key component of his work, from health care professionals in training to Hematology-Oncology providers to patients. He is a member of the American Society of Hematology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the International Multiple Myeloma Working Group, the International Myeloma Society, the National Cancer Institute Multiple Myeloma Steering Committee, and Vice Chair for the Multiple Myeloma Committee of the Alliance Cooperative Group. He has presented and published extensively in the area of multiple myeloma.
