Myo Htut, M.D., joined City of Hope’s Hematology and Bone Marrow Transplantation program in 2009. He has been principal investigator for multiple phase I/II studies in Multiple Myeloma including a genetically modified T cells therapy for relapse Myeloma. His clinical interests focus on developing novel therapeutics and stem cell transplantation for myeloma therapy. His laboratory interests focus on Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapy myeloma and circulating myeloma tumor cells. He has authored several manuscripts and presented multiple abstracts/posters both nationally and internationally.
Dr. Htut earned medical degree from Institute of Medicine, Yangon, Myanmar. He also did Internal medicine post graduate training in United Kingdom for several years. He interned and served his residency in internal medicine at Harbor Hospital Center, Baltimore, MD and after which he completed hemato-oncology fellowship at University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Before joining as a faculty member, Dr. Htut also completed Bone Marrow Transplant Fellowship at City of Hope.
Dr. Htut is currently an Associate Professor as well as clinical director for CAR T therapy for myeloma. He is also an NCCN panel member for multiple myeloma and plasma cell disorder. He is also a co-chair of multiple myeloma disease team at City of Hope.
